Temporary Mail (temporary-mail.org) is run by Projonmoit. This page explains what we collect and why. The main thing to know: free inboxes have no password, so anyone who uses the same address can read its mail. Don’t use one for anything private.

What we collect

  • Free addresses: the address and the mail sent to it. You don’t give us a name, password or real email address
  • Accounts: your email and password, or Google or Apple sign-in details, plus your plan, any name or picture you add, and your Pro addresses and mail
  • Purchases: the plan, price, date, store and transaction ID. Google Play or the App Store takes the payment, so we never see your card details
  • QR sign-in: your browser, operating system, IP address and approximate location, shown on your phone so you can check the request. We may keep a security record of each approval or refusal

IP addresses

Apart from the QR sign-in records above, we don’t keep logs of visitors’ IP addresses. Our servers still read your IP address to answer requests and limit abuse, and hosting and network providers can see it too.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies of its own. If you accept, we use Google Analytics to count visits. It sets cookies and sends Google the pages you view, your device and browser, your approximate location and your IP address. If you reject, it doesn’t load. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

We also save your address, settings, language and sign-in in your browser so the site keeps working. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Why we use it

We use this information to run the service, prevent abuse, answer you, keep purchase records and, if you accept, measure visits. Where the GDPR or similar law applies, our legal bases are providing the service, our legitimate interest in keeping it safe, legal obligations, and your consent for analytics.

How long we keep it

  • Free inbox mail: 30 minutes after it arrives
  • Pro mail and saved messages: until you delete them or your account
  • Account and purchase records: until your account is deleted, unless the law requires longer
  • QR sign-in sessions: two minutes

Who can see it

  • Anyone who opens the same free address, and a Pro user who opens it can save its messages to their account
  • Senders, who can learn your IP address and when you opened a message if you load its remote images. These are hidden by default
  • Companies that help us run the service: hosting and network providers, Google if you accept analytics, and Google Play or the App Store for purchases
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, and a new owner if the service is ever sold

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, object to how it is used, withdraw consent, and complain to your data protection authority. Email us to do any of these.

To delete your account, email us from the address on it. This permanently removes your mailboxes, mail, saved messages and purchase history.

Other details

  • Security: we use HTTPS and open messages in a sandbox that blocks scripts, but no online service is perfectly secure
  • Location: Projonmoit is based in Bangladesh, and information may be processed there and in other countries with different privacy laws
  • Children: the service isn’t for anyone under 13, or the higher minimum age in your country
  • Mobile apps: the GoMail and MailBin apps also have advertising, push notifications and diagnostics, so check their store listings
  • Changes: we will update this page and its date if our practices change
